Summary
This Marketing position is centered around writing skills and will play a significant role in delivering a consistent, well-defined brand voice to assets and campaigns across a variety of marketing channels.
This role is full time and can be Remote and/or Hybrid. Typical work hours Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Competitive hourly wage DOE. Reports directly to Director of Marketing. Content Marketing Specialist reports to Director of Marketing
PURPOSE:
Home Science Tools is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Content Marketing Specialist. This position is responsible for writing and editing content for digital marketing campaigns to drive website revenue, increase audience engagement, enable sales and build customer loyalty. This position requires excellent copywriting, editing and creative skills. This position plays a significant role in delivering a consistent, well-defined brand voice to assets and campaigns across a variety of marketing channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
CAMPAIGN PLANNING
- Collaborate with marketing team to plan creative campaigns that drive website sales, increase audience engagement, and build brand awareness.
- Work with Director of Marketing to create and manage content calendar, ensuring alignment to campaigns and marketing goals.
COPYWRITING/CONTENT CREATION
- Write clear, concise, and conversational copy for website, email, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, paid ads, SMS, blog, newsletters, landing pages.
- Write long-form thought leadership content including guides, reports and whitepapers. Work with designers to produce and complete assets.
- Create new innovative and compelling content to drive awareness and demand for hands-on science curriculums and products.
- Work with designers to create blog and social graphics.
- Write and publish press releases, company news and upcoming events.
BRAND COMMUNICATION
- Ensure messaging and brand voice remain consistent across all channels and content pieces.
PROOFREADING AND EDITING
- Proofreads and edits all written copy for spelling and grammar errors.
CONTENT MANAGEMENT
- Organizes and manages library of content files
- Reviews and repurposes content, including extensive library of articles in the Homeschool Hub, to meet the needs of our customers and marketing campaigns.
- Reports on performance metrics of content created
INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
- Supports leadership team in writing content / creating presentations for internal audiences as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Writing, or a related field
- 3+ years of marketing and/or communications experience
- Proven writing experience with submission of professional writing samples
- Alignment with company vision and values
- Natural curiosity and interest in science
- Strong editing skills with experience copywriting and proofreading
- Passion and ability to write engaging content for B2C and B2B audiences
- Knowledge of types of content and posts that perform best across various social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Twitter
- Proven experience in both long and short-form content creation
- Able to effectively research and write new content
- Able to creatively repurpose and refresh existing and/or aged content, optimizing for SEO and engagement
- A self-starting, collaborative team player, able to prioritize and complete multiple projects well, on time, and with proper attention to detail
- Enjoys creating excellent marketing campaigns with fellow creative, curious and fun-loving marketers
- Embraces learning new insights and skills in the ever-changing marketing landscape
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in light graphic design creation with Canva a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, comfortable with Excel and manipulating data
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress and ecommerce platforms a plus
